Started reading a new book recently. I will confess to being a toilet reader. Yup, on the toilet is the only place I tend to find time and where I am the most comfortable reading. On the toilet I have come up with some of my best marketing slogans and campaigns and done much philosophising, pondering and brainstorming. I have a serious relationship with my toilet. Sometimes, when all I have to do is a tinkle I am there for just under an hour reading with no thought or concept of time, then, I find I need to tinkle again and I have an added convenience of already being there. How delightful. Anyhow, the book I am currently reading is ‘Callgirl – Confessions of a double life’ By Jeanette Angell. Yesterday I told a girlfriend of mine (retired sex worker) who said she once gave the book a bad review and gave quite good reasoning for this. For now, I am enjoying the book and I do rather like the way this woman expresses herself. I had a lovely little chuckle to myself when I read the following:
‘Okay. We need to interrupt this broadcast. I’m going to say something that may burst a few bubbles, but what the hell. You know how there are all these urban myths out there, like the alligators livg in the sewers and the kids who put the cat in the microwave and it exploded? Well, there are specialized urban legends. Well, anyway , there are sexual urban legends, too. Different ones for men and for woman, of course. And, guys, I’m here to tell you: we don’t get off on you watching two of us having sex together. In the privacy of our own intimate moments, we generally do not strap on oversized dildos and encourage our partners to engage in a plastic blowjob. I know that’s what you like to see. I know that is what you want to believe. But if you are ever sitting and watching two women doing that, you need to know that they’re doing it solely for you………..’ P55 – 56.
Yesterday I went to Bris for our monthly peer group organisation meeting. Was great to see a new face and see all the usual people who attend. Some exciting things are going to happen in Qld with the new service in times to come and I am looking forward to these positive changes and being a part of the process with a dynamic team. Our next meeting is on the Gold Coast this month and a couple more new faces will most likely be attending, we are growing slowly but surely and again this is all exciting.
I have been doing marketing for some adult industry workers (other states and not Qld) and must admit I feel very honoured to be part of their success and equally so when they express to me how happy they are when they are getting plentiful amounts of work. Good marketing certainly helps despite the global economic crisis, it’s not a solution but it certainly helps. For those interested, Marketing is another forte of mine www.robynleslie.com
I need a massage, this is my only complaint and desire today.
Until next my lovelies, stay safe, well, look both ways before crossing the road and be good to your mothers!
